The truck and SUV segments are two of the most competitive segments in the industry—and it looks like Honda is coming out on top of these segments once again. The Japanese car maker recently had two models—the 2017 Honda CR-V and 2017 Honda Ridgeline—earn the title of Car and Driver 10Best Car and SUV winners in the compact SUV and midsize pickup segments respectively.
The Honda CR-V was honored thanks to its affordable price tag, powerful available engine options—which happens to also offer class-leading fuel efficiency—and its roomy, high-quality interior. For the Ridgeline, which is making its big comeback after three model years of no production, the winning attributes included best-in-class handing and ride, along with fuel efficiency. It was also praised for its available advanced all-wheel-drive system and quiet cabin.
To earn the title of winners on Car and Driver’s prestigious list, the Honda CR-V and Honda Ridgeline were put through their paces. Each vehicle was tested on specific attributes that are prominent in their segments, such as ride, handling, safety, technology, comfort, practicality, and fuel efficiency.
